Junoon – Kitchen & Bar is a fairly new speciality restaurant on the block and its owner already has big plans to make it a name to reckon with. Located in Sector 50, Gurugram, Haryana, the restaurant specializes in Kashmiri cuisine and is focused to excite the taste buds of those who are looking for authentic flavours from the valley.

“I have been born and brought up in Kashmir. Even since I grew, I wanted to take Kashmiri products global. When this opportunity came, I thought why not introduce Kashmiri Wazwan as a fine dining product in Delhi NCR”, says Sandeep Chattoo, owner, Junoon.

Chattoo understands the uniqueness of Wazwan and the art of experiencing it.

“There is lot of Wazwan available in the area but I wanted to personalize the eating experience of Wazwan as a gourmet delicacy”, he shares.

Junoon opened its doors in July 2018 and according to Chattoo, the response has been encouraging.

But can a restaurant specializing in Kashmiri Cuisine beat the likes of popular joints that sell the evergreen hits like Butter Chicken and Dal Makhni?

Chattoo is positive. “It will takes us some time tap into the customers who are ardent fans of Dal Makhni and Butter Chicken. But more importantly, we have an over 90% return ratio. Means, almost everyone who comes to Junoon returns.”

And, ambitious too. “I believe 2019 will be a great year for Junoon. I plan to make it one of the best eating joints in Gurgaon that not only serves great food but also make its Wazwan as popular as the Butter Chicken.”

“My favourite dish is the Rista, the pounded lamb balls in zaffron sauce. A true Rista should almost melt in your mouth”, and Junoon seems to promise just that!
