Ask me of a soulful mix of comfort and luxury stay in Colombo, Sri Lanka and I’ll tell you it’s The Kingsbury, minus second thoughts. Sorry, I couldn’t hold myself to give you this spoiler right at the beginning of the post.

It was my first time at the hotel during my first trip to Sri Lanka and I was looking forward to my stay with the hospitality brand that’s synonymous to luxury in Colombo.

As I arrived on Janadhipathi Mawatha, the first look of the sought-after hotel was assuring. It did look like a good place to settle for a few days and be treated like a princess.

The main entrance was alluring and the beautifully crafted doors gave me a majestic welcome.

Kingsbury lobby is an experience in itself if you’re waiting for someone or wanting to have a wifi-time within the hotel premises. I absolutely loved the arrangement of king-sized chairs that make the long lobby look special and provide a form of immediate comfort to the guests.

The check-in was smooth and the staff was courteous. The real excitement started to build as I headed towards my room.

Welcome treats!

And boy, it just didn’t disappoint. I couldn’t wait to crash, really.

What truly defined ‘luxury with comfort’ for me was the choice of pillows, an unmissable feature that spoke of the sensitivity with which it was made available.

The spacious balcony had a lively view to it.

I have always preferred hotel rooms with windows, balconies or any form of ventilation. Kingsbury room was a delight for someone like me who prioritizes to stay close to nature and is also an early-morning person.

And, the posing never stopped!

If you are a first-timer to Colombo, I don’t think you can go wrong with The Kingsbury.
