Acclaimed Director-Producer Anurag Kashyap, a name synonymous to path-breaking cinema in India, has always portrayed women as independent and strong-headed. From movies like Dev D to Gulaal to Gangs of Wasseypur, Kashyap’s feminine characters have always been edgy and no-holds-barred.
And that’s exactly how he thinks the perception of Indian women can change – by creating “aspirational characters”.
“I have only known and interacted with strong women and hence, been able to portray them in my movies”, said Kashayap while interacting with GW at the Nexa IIFA Awards Styled by Myntra Green Carpet.
