Despite OYO Rooms’ robust presence in India, it isn’t a preferable choice as a potential business partner for an Indian conglomerate that is planning to expand its footprints in the hotel industry.

Laurent & Benon Group has plans to launch business hotels and resorts across major Indian states in premium and luxury segments. These are going to be both Business to Business (B2B) as well as Business to Consumer (B2C).

And since, OYO Rooms is the hot favourite name in India’s hospitality scene presently, it was only inevitable to know whether the Group will be interested to tie up with the Ritesh Agarwal-led startup in future.

Aman Sayal, Group CEO & Founder, Laurent & Benon Group, wasn’t sure if the company will be interested in being associated with OYO Rooms.

“We are placing ourselves Premium, we will not want to tie up with OYO”, he divulged.

He also stated that the Group is looking to control the operations end to end and the company wants to be involved directly in delivering memorable experiences to its customers.

“Reviews on OYO have also not been that great, thus, we wouldn’t want to take that route,” he added.

Laurent & Benon Group also has a vertical called Laurent & Benon Corporate Stay Solutions that acts as a service provider for corporate India. It manages around 1800 self-acquired rooms and delivers completely customized accommodation solutions to its clients.

While, OYO Rooms is a branded hotel network that is spread across 200 cities with over 6,500 hotels. It is India’s home-grown company that offers standardized stays at competitive prices.

L& B has recently introduced ‘Business Hotels’ concept under its umbrella company. The vertical claims to have business hotels with 50 rooms in New Delhi within the airport zone while it also offers apartments in Navi Mumbai.

The company also plans to foray into leisure tourism with a 5-star property & wild-life resort in Madhya Pradesh. Presently, it is following the various government procedures to acquire the necessary land. It is also undertaking construction of hotel properties in Andhra Pradesh.

Laurent & Benon Group is a business conglomerate spread across Hospitality, Human Resources, Outsourcing & Shipping Solutions, Luxury Interiors and Real Estate.
